Know Your Greens

Have you ever heard of mustard, tomato greens, wheat grass and barley? I’m sure that a lot of you already know what basil is. What about the others? Did you recognize that these herbs are traditionally utilized in India for his or her medicinal properties? With these herbs around, care and preventive care is usually close at hand.

For example, a mix of basil leaves, honey and ginger are often used as a cough shot. If you would like a glowing skin, add some mustard to your diet. Having a glass of wheat grass juice can prevent your black hair from greying while tomato greens can prolong your youth.

Ms. Lulua Hussain, Green Educator with Gajera Global School, on a webinar today showed the way to grow these microgreens comprising herbs like basils, mustard, tomato greens, wheat grass and barley on your balconies and terraces. aside from the aroma they effuse, they're going to also act as heat insulators. The webinar was a neighborhood of the 6-day Eco-fest starting on 1 June 2021.

So go get some tubs, roll your sleeves and plant some microgreens. It all of you are doing it, we may achieve keeping our environs cool. While it's going to not be possible for us to possess green giants, but we may fill our surroundings with these micro greens. If all folks fill our surroundings small plants like herbs and spices, we’ll have created enough greenery to fill ourselves with well-being and goodness.



Organic Fruit Farming

When you hear someone say ‘live and let live’ what does one understand? Are we talking about letting only humans live? Or only animals? We as intelligent beings, got to understand that we've a responsibility towards the house where we sleep in, towards all the flora and fauna that depend upon the world. We cannot think only of our food, our profit and our needs. When the population was low, the pressure on resources was low. Consequently, species aside from humans thrived well. on the other hand, the expansion rate exploded, and that we needed more food to sustain ourselves. Pesticides and fertilizers came in at that time. we would have liked to extend production by any means, including killing weeds and insects.

But now, we've come to our senses. we've realized that by increasing the utilization of fertilizers and pesticides, we cannot increase production. we'd like to prevent using them so as for the soil to regain its nutrients in order that we achieve food security. When this reaslisation came, organic farming started thriving. In fact, it had been the first twentieth century when the shift started.

Now, a majority of European countries refuse to consume food and fruits grown using chemicals. In and around us too, organic farming has taken its firm roots, slowly but surely.

Today, a couple of our learners visited one such organic fruit farm to Gajera Charitable Trust know how they assist the whole ecology thrive. The visit showed them how we'd like biodiversity for our own benefit and well-being, that just one quite plant can erode the soil of its nutrients and plunge us to hunger and a scorched earth.

Today, we planted the seeds in some young minds. Tomorrow they're going to do an equivalent with their posterity. Maybe, in future, we’ll eat only organic food. We believe the day isn't far.
